James Clerk Maxwell (1831-1879)
Maxwell was the greatest theoretical physicist of the 19th century. He discovered the mathematical equations of electromagnetism, and developed the atomic theory of gases.
150 years after Newton, Maxwell introduced his own universal laws, relating electricity, magnetism and light in one set of fundamental equations.
